To Buy a Book

At GreenMetropolis.com you can enjoy pretty much the same features you'd expect with any other online bookstore, but with the major difference of being able to buy books at unbelievably low prices. And if that weren't enough, know that at the same time you're also helping to preserve the country's woodlands.

Once you've registered and logged on you'll find all the usual features. If you want to find a particular author or if you know part of the book's title you can use our search engine. If you don't know what you want, you can browse our bookstore by category; or perhaps try one of our three daily recommended titles. Either way, when you find your book you'll be presented with a summary of the book and it's condition (see Rating the Condition of a Book). From here you can click for 'More Information' to learn more about the book and its reviews, or simply 'Add to basket'.

Having made your selections you may proceed to checkout, where you will be shown the total cost of your order - there are no hidden charges. All our books (hardbacks and softbacks) are sold at the incredibly low price of just £3.75. What's more, there's no minimum order value and all standard size paperbacks come with free delivery - just look at for our Free Delivery symbol on all standard paperbacks. Hardbacks and some heavier large format paperbacks may incur a small delivery charge to help cover the additional postage and packing costs. Postage on these books is based on the weight of each book and is clearly shown when viewing the books details. The total delivery for an order (if any) is shown when viewing your shopping basket and when proceeding to checkout.

There must be sufficient funds available in your GreenMetropolis.com account, if not you'll be asked to credit your account using a debit or credit card (see Your Account Balance). You will then be asked to select a delivery address and to confirm your order. Once this is done your GreenMetropolis.com account will be debited with the total order value and a confirmation e-mail will be sent to you, detailing your order number and delivery details.

We will then source your order from one of our suppliers and arrange delivery within 7 to 10 days. The supplier never has access to your account details and will only receive details of your nominated delivery address.

Your Wish List

If you find the book you're after is not currently in stock, then our Book Search can help. By selecting the 'Search All Books' option, our system will retrieve details of your book even if it's not currently in stock. Then by selecting the 'Add to Wish List' option next to the book, our system will automatically e-mail you when the book's in stock.

Once Received

If you have ordered multiple books as part of one order, they may be sourced from different sellers and therefore may arrive at different times. However we aim to deliver your entire order within 7 to 10 days.

The 'View Orders' section from your account administration page tracks all your current orders. All books you have ordered appear in your 'Books bought' list. Please confirm receipt of your books as you receive them, by updating the 'Received' column on the list. Our customer support team will investigate any books not received within 10 days of ordering.

Our Buyer Promise

We all know buying from individuals, local shops or even some high street stores can sometimes become an arduous experience. Consumer concerns are compounded when buying over the Internet, with additional issues of payment, security and receipt of goods.

To address these, GreenMetropolis.com has set out a clear and concise Buyer's Promise.
Whether you are a Buyer or Seller, your transaction is always with GreenMetropolis.com and not with another consumer. Therefore if there is a problem with your order, you can depend upon the Buyer's Promise to either resolve the problem or to re-credit your account in full.
A simple e-mail to Customer Support is usually all that is needed to resolve a problem.
