This book was one of the Orange prize nominees last year. It was controversial in our book group when we read it, half loved it, half hated it! Set in Ireland, in one house, with only the voice of one woman, it is a lovely novel, unravelling the life of Molly Fox through the eyes of her friend in a lovely, lilting kind of way. I really enjoyed it.

I read this a good few months ago, and enjoyed it, too. I can see how it could be controversial in a book group, though!

The title is really apt as I have just put some cat food out for a poor fox I saw this morning with a broken leg. He/she looked so thin, the trouble is keeping my cats from eating it.

Awww, hope fox is ok. Maybe speak to RSPCA? Could someone come out?

Hahaha tell me about it! I've never been part of a reading group - part of me would LOVE to join one...part would hate to be 'forced' to read set titles...hmmmm

Yes will try the RSPCA if I see him again. Re reading groups I know what you mean but it can be good to be forced to read genres that you wouldn't normally bother with, I have discovered some authors that I would not have tried if I hadn't been made too.
